Poppy Reserve - Antelope Valley, California

A Couple days ago I found out another reason why California is called "the Golden state." It's the poppies! Thousands of them. Millions of them! Okay, I have no idea how many poppies there are, but if you want to see the golden side of California, now's a great time of year to go to the Poppy Reserve in the Antelope Valley in Southern California (Los Angeles area).

There are many miles of trails to walk to view the fields of poppies, ranging from mild to moderate. Do bring sunscreen and definitely bring a camera.

That last picture shows three monks in orange robes walking the trails. The Reserve is located at 43779 15th St. West, Lancaster, CA. You can get more info at californiapoppies.com
