Have you always wanted to go on a Mediterranean cruise, but couldn't afford it? Then try winning a cruise! Holland America is having a sweepstakes, with the winner receiving a 10-day Holland America Line Mediterranean Enchantment Cruise for two aboard the MS Noordam departing in 2008. (If you're here looking for the Family Circle sweepstakes info, scroll down, you'll see my entry about that sweepstakes. Or, you can click this link: http://vacation-getaway.blogspot.com/2008/02/vacation-sweepstakes.html).
The lucky winner may select any one of 6 HAL Mediterranean Enchantment cruise departures on the Noordam between May 9, 2008 and September 14, 2008, subject to availability at time of confirmation.
This sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States, District of Columbia and Canada (with the exception of Quebec) who are 21 years of age or older, and who register to win by april 30, 2008. You can enter online, but you can only enter once, by going to www.requesthal.com/europe.
The winner is responsible for non-discountable amounts and taxes (as those terms are used in the HAL brochure) before the tickets will be issued. The prize includes stateroom accommodations for 2 guests in the same stateroom and most shipboard meals. The cruise prize DOES NOT include airfare, ground transfers, shore excursions, hotel services charges, other onboard expenses, and applicable passport, visa and entry/exit fees. (Is it just me, or is Holland America cheap for not paying your airfare? Oh, well, a free cruise is still a nice way to spend a vacation).
Oh, one odd thing about this sweepstakes is that if it's won by a Canadian, he or she will have to answer an unaided, time-limited math skills question by phone before he or she can claim the prize. So, if you're from Canada, enter then hone up on your math skills. Have no idea what the test is all about; have never seen such a requirement before.
So, there you go all you cruise lovers. Go there now and enter.
